Format – Gents, Strokeplay 2 qualifying rounds over Monday & Tuesday. Knock-outs for top 8 qualifiers on scratch basis, handicap up to 8.7 and 8.8 and above and therefore 24 qualifiers. Consolation Stablefords
played over Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. Leading 8 players in each of the scratch, 1st class and 2nd class
handicap sections from the two qualifying rounds on Monday and Tuesday play –off in match play rounds. Handicap index sections will be Scratch – 8.7 and 8.8 – 28.0. Consolation tournaments on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for non-qualifiers and players eliminated during the match play stages.

The Newmachar 3-Day Open – The Newmachar Quaich. 36-hole qualifying on Friday – Hawkshill & Swailend. Qualifiers will play knockout matchplay over the weekend and non-qualifiers will play in The Newmachar Cup (stableford).
Friday 36 hole Qualifying (07/07/2023) –
Half of the field will play Hawkshill in the morning and Swailend in the afternoon.
The other half of the field will play Swailend in the morning and Hawkshill in the afternoon.
Saturday (08/07/2023) –
Knockout matchplay for qualifiers on Hawkshill.
Round 1 of The Newmachar Cup for non-qualifiers on Swailend.
Sunday (09/07/2023) –
Knockout matchplay for remaining competitors on Hawkshill.
Round 2 of The Newmachar Cup for non-qualifiers on Hawkshill.
Entry £50 for members and £80 for visitors.
4 rounds of golf guaranteed.
