In the late 1960’s an energetic commitee applied itself to extending the course to eighteen holes, by leasing land from the then Lord Lieutenant of the County, Colonel R C Stewart of Arndean. With a considerable amount of work taken on by the members, a further nine holes were opened on 31st August 1970.
It was not long after attaining eighteen hole status that Muckhart Golf Club emerged as one of the fairest tests of golf in the Perth & Kinross area, and soon demands were put upon it to host prestigious County events.
In 1992, land adjoining the Golf Course became available for purchase, and the enterprising commitee realised a potential for further expansion. These nine holes were officially opened on the 25th July 1998, and completed the magnificent 27 hole heathland golf course that we know as Muckhart Golf Club.
Muckhart is situated just 45 minutes away from St Andrews, and our strongest asset is that we offer 27 holes of golf on three nine hole courses – Arndean, Cowden and Naemoor. This means that you can almost always get a round of golf and even play 27 different holes in one day. Located in central Scotland means we are no more than an hour’s drive away for most Scottish golfers.
The Clubhouse offers all visitors to the club a full range of comfortable facilities . The fully licensed bar is host to a wide range of refreshments, both hot and cold. Along with excellent catering facilities the Clubhouse always offers a warm welcome for members and visitors alike. For those visitors who bring along the family, there is the opportunity to enjoy a snack or refreshment, whilst watching sympathetically as the golfing members of their party valiantly attempt to conquer the eighteenth hole.
