For me personally this was a 5 star experience because I wasn't expecting much. It was early June 2022, it rained all day and I had a few hours to spare. Fort William was a tournament, so they sent me here. There was no one on the course, just the honesty box at the small clubhouse. I think they only wanted 10 pounds for 9 holes. I couldn't even orientate myself on the one. The course has 18 tees but only nine greens. I didn't even know that until now. What else should I say? The greens were small and hard, the views of the mountains were beautiful, the heath was wild and the rain was very wet. But I felt right at home here and had a great time. A nice Scot came by with his dog, threw me a golf ball and said I must be crazy to go play golf in this weather.

Challenging course. Tight fairways. Lost my fair share of balls. Nobody on site so paid in honesty box

A splendid 9 hole course in the mids of heather bordering the Caledonian Canal. Do not expect any amenities, possibly you need to pay your greenfee in the honesty box.

Incredible. Beautiful course and well maintained. My dad and I rented clubs (ladies and lefties) and the club provided balls, tees and a glove. They even provided perfect weather. David is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. An altogether phenomenal few hours (and the bar was open). Course runs along the canal, and you can’t beat the view. Amazing traditional course.

Neat little golf course (£15 for 9 holes) Pretty well maintained and a few tricky holes. Watch out for that rough though it gets pretty thick so try to stay straight! Different sets of tees for the back nine.

Fort Augustus Golf Club

Fort Augustus was laid out in 1924 by Harry Shapland Colt on the banks of the Caledonian Canal near Loch Ness.

a traditional heathland course with alternative tee positions for the second 9 giving the course a true 18 hole feel.

Dense gorse and heather lines the long narrow fairways which demands accurate driving.

The scenery never loses it’s breathtaking appeal to those who have played here in the past or are visiting for the first time.

Our clubhouse is small and cosy which allows us to offer a personal welcome to all who play here and our licenced bar makes it the perfect place to have that much needed refreshing drink and relax and talk about tbe highs and lows of your round
