Hadn’t played this course for many years, however memories flooded back, lovely course – a little short, however ideal for those of us who don’t get to play too often. Very much recommended!

A fun yet challenging 9 hole golf course 4 miles from Grantown on Spey. Built in 1893 with many hilly highland Course features and in good condition with some interesting holes between the trees and heather. The war monument on the 8th is an interesting feature. The par 3 second hole over the road, just keep an eye out for the double decker bus passing. Staff and members are very friendly and helpful. Played on the great value family ticket, 2 adults & 2 teens.A fun enjoyable test of highland golf.

What a friendly golf course just outside Aviemore. Great condition, value for a visitor with very friendly members. I cannot wait to play it again

Golf in Nethy Bridge started on July 1st 1893 and we are proud members of the 1893 Club, a group of more than 50 clubs worldwide all founded in that year. Although located in Nethy Bridge the club is named after the Parish whose name, Abernethy, was historically much more commonly used. But Nethy Bridge was imposed upon reluctant parishioners when the postal service was introduced!

In 1993 the Club celebrated its centenary which was recognised by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club via a congratulatory telemessage – remember those?

The monument (our 8th and signature hole) is a war memorial for the fallen in World War 1 and 2. Over the years many visitors have remarked about the unusual if not unique siting for a war memorial in the middle of a golf course. However for the parishioners of Abernethy it was an admirable site because at the time nearly all the forests had been felled and the memorial could be seen from every corner of the parish.

Our moorland 9 hole course is suitable for golfers of all standards and experience. Families, groups and visitors looking for a casual game are welcome while low handicappers will face a possibly unexpected challenge. Accuracy and course management are key to avoid our extensive natural hazards, plus a few man-made ones. But wherever you are on the course, take the time to enjoy the spectacular and peaceful Highland surroundings.

The clubhouse is staffed by volunteers so opening times vary. When open we serve light snacks (teas, coffees, soup, confectionary). Please contact the club for group bookings including catering.

We have a small practice area, comprising two nets, pitching mats and a practice putting green. For those without clubs, we have a few sets for hire – pre-booking essential. We also have push trolleys for hire.
