Fantastic golf course, greens were superb for winter, and the fairways were quite dry for the most considering the bad weather we've had all in all a fantastic course we'll worth trying out, defo be back in summer

A beautiful parkland course in the South West of Scotland. Should you be driving north from England to play courses further up country why not break your trip by taking in this great course .

Very disappointed with the club asking for full payment upfront (76pound) for a 2 ball weeks in advance not knowing what the weather would be like travelling over 130 miles. I really wanted to play here as I've not been back for 15 years. A deposit would of been fine but not full payment. Needless to say we found elsewhere (dumfries and county) and had a very enjoyable round on a very good course. I wonder how many other people have done the same as me

In their Words…….

Lochmaben Golf Club was founded in 1926 and the original 9 holes were designed by James Braid, the five times Open Champion. The course encompasses three archaeological sites of historic importance while a fourth site, the Gallows Hill, lies across the road from the fourth tee.

The second green is the site of one of Bruce’s castles; indeed the original fortress there dates from well before that. The remains of the mottes are clearly visible. On the ninth there are the remains of the Mount Pleasant settlement and the enclosures of Skelvieland.

Famous for its wildlife and picturesque views of the Kirk Loch, Lochmaben Golf Course is a challenging experience for any golfer. The course is one of the best examples of a parkland course in the area, is very well kept and, due to the excellent drainage work the greens staff have put in , golf is available all year round.

The club benefits from a comfortable lounge overlooking the 18th green and stunning views over the loch and surrounding countryside, where we offer you a wide selection of food and beverages. Large visiting parties are welcome to contact the club to arrange catering requirements directly
