Didn't visit the golf club,we took the coastal walk path to see some stunning views and the turquoise waters on the white sands are unbelievable.

Absolutely beautiful course. Friendly locals and fantastically maintained. A real test that makes you work for your pars and rewards a gamble...an average golfer would do well to play bogey golf here. Not cheap but worth the price.... highly recommend.

Fantastic and rough natural links with stunning views and broad fairways. The last 2 holes are the best, and finish with a Cypress Point / Turnberry like shot over the sea.

What a fantastic 9 hole course! We weren't expecting much, just fabulous views, but the course was great! Challenging and the latter holes got better and better. Good greens and well maintained tee boxes. For only £20 in an honesty box. We loved it!!

Just to clarify, I visited but didn't play. I thought the £30 for 18 holes and£20 for 9 excessive. I looked at the green next to the clubhouse and it looked in really good condition but the course looked like you needed ropes but as for views, you couldn't beat it. Spectacular.

Worth the 2 1/2 hour drive from Inverness for the views alone. A tough opening 3 holes uphill and into the wind. The 6th is a magical hole and everyone knows about the final hole. Hit it straight and true, you'll not go wrong. A very picturesque course in fine condition

In their Words…….

Designed by three local golf enthusiasts – Lachie Ross, Ian Morrison and Francis Keith – and opened in 1988, Durness Golf Club nestles on Scotland’s north coast and is Britain’s most north westerly golf course on the mainland.

If you have been on the North Coast 500, we lie right on this famous route 57 miles north west of Lairg with the closest main airport south east of us at Inverness.

We are a 9 hole links, but with a second set of tees that provides a fine 18 hole experience, set against some of the most stunning landscape backdrops you will see in the golfing world.

If your idea of finding a links golf course involves an adventure, remoteness, turquoise ocean and sandy beaches then Durness GC could well be the golf experience you have been looking for
