In their Words…….
The Murcar Championship Golf Links has a par of 71 and a standard scratch rating of 73 (USGA rating 72.7 and USGA slope rating 135). Murcar frequently features in the Top 100 courses in the UK and the VisitScotland Top 40 Great Scottish Links Collection.
Established in 1909 to the design of Archie Simpson, with later refinements made in the 1930′s by the celebrated golf course designer James Braid, Murcar is indeed a Championship links of some renown, in the finest of Scottish traditions it has also undergone alterations and improvements that are sympathetic to what Simpson and Braid set out to achieve, under the watchful eye of Graeme J Webster’s Team Niblick Ltd.
Not for the beginner or the faint hearted, Murcar Links is a par 71 (sss 72) natural Championship links, which represents a truly challenging test of golf. To play it requires every shot in the book and if the wind is up, a few more besides!.
Murcar Links Golf Club is a members’ club but is keen for visitors to enjoy the course and its facilities. The Club is more than happy to accommodate individual golfers or groups. Individual players will not be asked to join up with other groups.
Our spacious clubhouse provides excellent bar and catering facilities to members and the many visitors who come to Murcar Links each year.
